Recently I was honored to have a photograph chosen for the 2013 Jax Juried Exhibition in Floyd , VA.  The Juror, Sam Blanchard, a sculptor from Va Tech. chose a landscape I had taken last year in yosemite.

This is a view of Little Yosemite Valley at sunset.  A lovely tree, sheer granite, Half Dome, color and depth.

The Reception on August 10th was great.  Well attended with many artists present representing sculpture, painting, textiles, photography. I couldn’t believe I was present in such company.

Discussion with the Juror helped me to appreciate the prize winning pieces in the show and increase my understanding of composition and presentation.

I was able to do more photography at Woods Gap, up before sunrise, hiking the steep slopes behind the house.  I was remembering a beautiful wedding that took place here not long ago.
