A cool, overcast winter day with slight drizzle. Perfect for waterfalls. A nice hike at Hanging Rock, hardly anyone around, peaceful, listening to the rush of water. Plenty of time to really settle into the scene and compose. Waterfalls are always beautiful and inspiring.
A short hike down a rocky path brings me to Upper cascade falls, rounding the corner this was my first view. Like a delicate veil behind the soft green pine.

A short drive, a wait for the rain to let up, still solitude on a day like this. Hidden Falls shows its beauty.
This may be my favorite waterfall picture so far.
I love the many small cascades, each with its own character, the beautiful colors of the rock, the water spray.
Another winter day found me in the mountains after a snowfall. Fresh untracked snow on the ground, branches coated in white fluff, fingers cold, excited to be here. This is a BIG waterfall, Linville, majestic, powerful, A different challenge to present all of this in a photo. A few other brave souls out to view and photograph, we trade settings and angles. Gloves off and on trying to control the camera with stiff fingers.

A spring hike with Lori Kincaid to Harmon Den area for wildflowers included many streams such as Cold Creek with this lovely waterfall.
Spring in the mountains is so lush, green moss, wildflowers, flowing streams, bird songs. This end of trail waterfall capped it off.
