Coastal photography is so different. Everything is horizontal, so wide, so big!
It has been a real challenge to capture the essence of the coastal environment.
I am still awed by the ocean, uncomfortable there even though I love it’s
beauty. These are some of my favorite images at sunrise and sunset.
We have been volunteer staff at Cape Lookout National Seashore. This gives us an opportunity to stay overnight in the light keepers quarters and walk the beach early morning and late night. Very deserted at those times. Hauntingly beautiful.
I love the ripples in the sand, such interesting patterns.
The Sound country is likewise fascinating with marsh and bay and salt creek and maritime forest.
