In the midst of our first snow storm seems the perfect time to send out this Christmas greeting hoping it finds all of you in the joy of the season.

A Winters Walk
Cold air, you can see your breath!
Grass sparkling, green-grey with
frost on this morning’s walk
Beech leaves tawny brown
a scattering of oak all that
remain of the trees glorious
season
Two young children, boy and girl
poised on bicycle at the hill top
(soon to be replaced by sled)
ready to take on the world
Past Bill’s place, Christmas wreaths
in the windows, a wisp of fragrant
smoke from white oak burning
in the stove warming the day
Around the corner on the dirt
road, a wave from Patty and Sharon
putting out hay honey colored with
the summer sunshine
Down to Penny’s house to
see if the little dogs have
come out to play
Rhythm of home
Rhythm of family
Rhythm of Christmas
May you have a blessed
and Merry Christmas
